You can now change the design of a generated Photoship PDF without spending more credits.
The first PDF generation still uses the normal 5 PDF credits. After that, design changes to the same PDF are free.
What You Can Change
Open a completed PDF and choose Change design. The PDF editor reopens with your existing choices already selected.
You can update:
- the starting style, including Sales Catalogue, Lookbook, Wholesale List, and Premium Portfolio;
- the colour theme;
- light or dark mode;
- page layout and items per page;
- visible product details and their order;
- currency display;
- cover-page settings;
- the PDF title.
You still get the real product preview before saving.
One PDF, Not a List of Duplicates
Saving design changes updates the same PDF.
Photoship keeps the existing PDF ID and replaces its generated file and settings only after the new version is ready. It does not add another PDF row to your downloads list every time you try a different colour or layout.
This means your PDF history stays useful:
- one entry for the PDF you created;
- one place to download it;
- one place to change its design;
- no extra credits for design corrections.
Your Previous PDF Is Protected
Photoship generates the replacement before switching the PDF to the new version.
If rendering or saving the updated design fails, the previous completed PDF remains available. A failed edit should not remove the file that was already working.
When Credits Are Used
Credits are used when you create a new PDF output.
They are not used when you reopen an existing PDF and save design changes to that same output.
If you intentionally create a separate PDF—for example, one wholesale price list and one image-heavy lookbook—that is a new output and uses the normal PDF generation credits.
How to Edit a PDF
- Open PDF Downloads in Photoship.
- Select View beside the PDF you want to update.
- Choose Change design.
- Adjust the style, colour, layout, fields, or cover.
- Check the preview.
- Select Save changes.
The updated file remains available from the same PDF page.
Why We Changed This
Choosing a PDF design is rarely perfect on the first attempt. You may notice that a colour does not match your brand, a buyer needs a denser price list, or a product detail should be hidden.
Those are edits to an output you already paid to create—not a reason to charge for another PDF.
The new workflow separates the two actions clearly:
Create a new PDF → uses PDF credits
Edit the design of that PDF → free
That makes experimentation safer and keeps your PDF library clean.
