We just made the biggest change to how Photoship pricing works since we launched. We removed subscription plans entirely and replaced them with a pay-as-you-go credits system.
What Changed
Before: You picked a plan (Free or Basic at ₹499/month). Each plan had limits on products, catalogues, images, PDFs, and online stores. Hit a limit, you had to upgrade.
Now: Everything is free and unlimited — products, catalogues, images, uploads. You get 30 starter credits when you sign up. Credits are only used for output actions. Buy more when you need them.
Why We Did This
Three things kept coming up in conversations with users:
Most users didn't need a monthly plan. A jewelry manufacturer creating one catalogue per quarter doesn't need to pay ₹499 every month. They need to pay when they actually generate output.
Limits felt arbitrary. "You can have 50 products but not 51" is a frustrating boundary when you're trying to get work done. The product and catalogue creation part should never be gated.
Subscriptions punish inactivity. If you didn't use Photoship for a month, you still paid. That's not fair for seasonal businesses or anyone who creates catalogues in bursts.
How Credits Work
You start with 30 free credits. Creating products and catalogues costs nothing — you can make as many as you want.
Credits are only spent on output actions:
- PDF/DOCX Processing — 8 credits
- Excel Processing — 5 credits
- Generate PDF Catalogue — 5 credits
- Excel Export — 3 credits
- Online Store — 10 credits per 30 days
- Create Organization — 5 credits
- Invite Team Member — 3 credits
When you run low, buy a top-up pack:
- 15 credits — ₹99
- 25 credits — ₹149
- 60 credits — ₹299
Credits never expire. No recurring charges. No cancellation needed.
What This Means for You
If you were on the Free plan: You now have unlimited products and catalogues instead of being capped at 50 and 2. Your 30 starter credits work the same way.
If you were on the Basic plan: Your existing credits carry over. You won't be charged again. Buy top-up packs when you need more.
If you're new: Sign up, get 30 credits, start building. You can create your entire product catalogue and only spend credits when you're ready to generate PDFs or launch an online store.

We want Photoship to be the tool you open when you need to get catalogue work done — not something you feel guilty about paying for when you don't. Pay-as-you-go aligns our pricing with how people actually use the product.
